Hudson Valley Renegades News Release


The Brooklyn Cyclones defeated the Hudson Valley Renegades, 3-1, in front of 4,646 fans at Dutchess Stadium, completing a two-game series sweep. Brooklyn took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first, and never trailed in the game.

Renegades shortstop Juniel Querecuto (2-for-4,R) had a pair of hits, stole two bases, and scored Hudson Valley's lone run in the game, cutting the lead to 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth inning. Jeff Malm (1- for-4, RBI) drove in a run for the third time in four games, and has five RBI in that span.

Hudson Valley outfielder Cesar Guillen had two hits in the game, and is now batting .500 (6-for-12) during his current four-game hitting streak.

Losing pitcher Andrew Bellatti (5.0IP, 4H, 3R/1ER, 1 BB, 8 SO) struck out a personal season-high eight hitters tonight, bringing his season total to 13. The right-hander has now allowed just one earned run in 11 innings over his last two starts.

The Renegades (5-9) host the Aberdeen Ironbirds at The Dutch tomorrow night, July 2nd. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
