LINCOLN - The Saltdogs are proud to announce that the contract of C Jeff Howell has been purchased by the Boston Red Sox, becoming the fourth Lincoln ballplayer sold to a MLB organization this season.

In 31 games for the Saltdogs, Howell hit .269 with five home runs, 11 doubles and 19 RBI. He will report to Double-A Portland of the Eastern League.
