Hot Rods-Lugnuts Suspended on Saturday

Bowling Green Hot Rods News Release

Lansing, MI - Wander Franco hit his sixth home run of the season in a game that was suspended due to rain prior to the bottom of the first inning starting. The Hot Rods and Lugnuts will play a doubleheader on Sunday with the continuance of the 1-0 game at 11:05 PM CDT while the second game will begin approximately 30 minutes after the final out of game-one.

Saturday's ballgame began with a delayed start thanks to some weather prior to first pitch, but the contest began at 7:35 PM EDT. Franco and the Hot Rods took an early lead against Lugnuts starter Sean Wymer. With one out, Franco blasted a solo homer over the right field wall on the first pitch of his at-bat to make it a 1-0 game.

Following the conclusion of the top of the first, another storm manifested over Cooley Law School Stadium, forcing the game to be halted before the Hot Rods could take the field. The game was delayed until 8:15 PM EDT when it was decided the game would be postponed and played as part of a doubleheader on Sunday.

The Hot Rods conclude their series with the Lugnuts on Sunday and will have an off day on Monday. Fans can catch all the action with Shawn Murnin on Willie 107.9 FM, as well as, with their smart phones via the MiLB First Pitch app and TuneIn Radio app.
