GREENSBORO, NC - Greensboro used a pair of five-run innings as part of a 14-1 win over the BlueClaws on Monday night at NewBridge Bank Park.

The BlueClaws (1-4) have dropped four of their first five games so far in the second half and seven of their last eight games overall.

Every Greensboro (2-3/46-29) had at least one hit and six had two hits in the win. Two of the three players to have just one hit - JT Riddle and Rheinar Cordova, each drove in three for Greensboro, who improved to 8-5 against the BlueClaws this year.

Felix Munoz homered off Tyler Viza (2-10) in the second inning to open the scoring and Greensboro would add a third run in the second and another in the third.

It was the 4th inning where the game got away from Lakewood. An RBI single by JT Riddle, a groundout by Rheinar Cordova, and an RBI double by Carlos Lopez chased Viza. Jesen Therrien allowed RBI doubles to Austin Dean and Justin Bohn to make it 9-0.

Greensboro added five runs - four earned - against Temple draftee Matt Hockenberry, a 2014 9th round pick who made his BlueClaws debut tonight, joining the team earlier in the day from the GCL Phillies.

Lakewood got three hits apiece from Larry Greene Jr and Andrew Pullin. Samuel Hiciano drove in both runs and hit his seventh home run in the 9th inning.

Drew Stankiewicz, an 11th round pick this year from Arizona State, went 1-4 in his Lakewood debut.

The series continues on Tuesday afternoon. RHP Mark Leiter Jr (5-6, 3.81) opposes LHP Sean Townsley (1-2, 2.95) with a 12:30 scheduled first pitch.
