HAGERSTOWN M.D. - Those who attended the Hagerstown Suns game against the Lexington Legends tonight witnessed a surprise military reunion between a dad and his three sons. Alex Bennett (age 6), Nik Bennett (age 4), and Ian Bennett (age 2) threw out three ceremonial first pitches to their dad, Air Force Master Sergeant Charles Bennett of Hagerstown Maryland.

Following the three ceremonial first pitches, Master Sergeant Bennett revealed his face to his shocked, but elated sons with mom, Bekah Bennett standing close by. The local airman has been stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba for more than six months. Originally scheduled to return home in May, his deployment was extended for more than a month. Wife, Bekah Bennet, contacted the Suns front office in April to coordinate the reunion and invited more than 100 family and friends to witness the homecoming. The Bennett family will continue their celebration later this week when they head to Disney World.

The night concluded with a Suns victory, 3-1, over the Legends. They will continue the four game series with Lexington Tuesday, June 24. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
