Home run derby continues in Albuquerque as River Cats cruise

Albuquerque, NM - The Sacramento River Cats (24-26) continued their offensive assault on Isotopes Park, scoring 16 runs on 16 hits to defeat the Albuquerque Isotopes (24-27) 16-8 in game two of their four-game series.

The Sacramento offense again used the big fly to great effect, blasting five home runs as a club for the third time this season. Aramis Garcia and Anthony Garcia each hit home runs for the second straight day, and center fielder Mike Gerber blasted a pair homers on Sunday after homering on Saturday as well. Right-fielder Henry Ramos added his seventh home run of the season.

Right-hander Yoanys Quiala was stellar early, getting through five innings while only allowing one run and striking out six. The Isotopes got to Quiala in the sixth, however, and the bullpen came in to limit the damage. The Isotopes took the lead briefly at 6-5, but the River Cats would score 11 runs over the final three innings to put the game out of reach.

The River Cats go into the Memorial Day matinee seeking to clinch the series victory. Sacramento has yet to name a starter for Monday's game, while Albuquerque will go with right-hander Ryan Castellani (2-2, 6.84). First pitch is set for 12:35 p.m. (PT). Additional Notes

- Mike Gerber has enjoyed playing at Isotopes Park so far this year. He is hitting .593 (16-for-27) with six home runs and 16 RBI in just six games. The 26-year old has racked up a 2.053 OPS against Isotopes pitching this season.

- Sacramento has outscored Albuquerque 63-35 through the first six games between the two clubs this season. The River Cats are 4-2 in those games, averaging 10.5 runs per contest.

- River Cats right-hander Sam Coonrod was recalled by the San Francisco Giants on Sunday and made his Major League debut against the Arizona Diamondbacks. He worked a perfect eighth inning with a strikeout.
