Omaha Storm Chasers News Release
Storm Chasers designated hitter Elier Hernandez recorded a game-high three hits, however Oklahoma City right fielder Shane Peterson smashed a go-ahead two-run home run in the fifth inning and four Dodgers relief pitchers kept Omaha quiet in a 4-2 victory on Saturday night at Werner Park.
The Storm Chasers struck first with a two-spot in the second courtesy of 2B Humberto Arteaga 's two-run single to left. The Dodgers would then narrow the margin to one in the subsequent frame via 3B Edwin Rios ' bases-loaded walk prior to grabbing the lead two innings later when Peterson went deep. Oklahoma City later added an additional insurance run in the eighth with a sacrifice fly.
Hernandez (3-4, R), Arteaga (2-4, 2 RBI) and SS Jecksson Flores (2-4) all posted multi-hit efforts for Omaha, while Dodgers 1B Cameron Perkins (2-4, R) and DH Zach Reks (2-5) each tallied two knocks. In total, seven of nine Storm Chasers batters recorded at least one hit.
Oklahoma City starter Rob Zastryzny (5.0 IP, 8 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 4 BB, 6 K) earned his second victory of the year, while relievers Justin Grimm (1.0 IP, 2 H, 2 K), Jaime Schultz (1.0 IP, 2 K), Kevin Quackenbush (1.0 IP, 2 K) and J.T. Chargois (1.0 IP, 2 K) combined for the final four scoreless frames, with Chargois notching his third save. Omaha starter Scott Blewett (5.0 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 4 BB, 2 K) suffered the defeat, while reliever Ben Lively (2.0 IP, 2 K) tossed two shutout innings of relief.
The two teams are set to continue their six-game series on Sunday evening, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05pm CT. RHP Kyle Zimmer (1-2, 7.45) is anticipated to start for the Storm Chasers, with RHP Daniel Corcino (3-1, 3.97) expected to get the nod for the Dodgers.
Tickets for that game and all remaining Storm Chasers home contests can be purchased online at www.omahastormchasers.com, or by calling the Werner Park Ticket Office from noon until 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday at (402) 738-5100.
