Hitmen Powerplay Rips Regina 5-1

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen scored four unanswered goals en-route to a 5-1 win over the Regina Pats in the Hitmen Fight Cancer game, presented by Canada Diagnostic Centres, on Sunday at the Scotiabank Saddledome. 

The Hitmen powerplay was lethal accounting for all of the Calgary goals going 5-7 with the extra attacker.

Jake Bean, Radel Fazleev and Travis Sanheim had three points each with Bean scoring twice and recording an assist, Fazleev adding a goal and two assists and Sanheim notching three assists.

Chase Lang and Jordy Stallard rounded out the scoring helping Calgary snap a three-game winless streak.

Rookie goaltender Lasse Petersen made 19 saves to record the victory as Calgary improves to 6-3-0-1, moving into second place in the Central Division, one point back of the front-running Red Deer Rebels.

In the previous six years, the Calgary Hitmen with the support of their partners, players, staff and fans have raised over $87,460 through the club's Hitmen Fight Cancer initiatives.

The Hitmen will depart on a four-game B.C. road trip that opens with a pair of stops in Prince George (Oct. 20 & Oct. 21) before traveling to Kamloops (Oct. 23) and Kelowna (Oct. 24). Calgary's next home game is Thursday, Oct. 29 when the Spokane Chiefs visit the Scotiabank Saddledome.
