
Hawks Fall 4-2 in Tri-Cities Saturday

The Portland Winterhawks (2-6) fell 4-2 in Kennewick, WA Saturday in a road contest against the Tri-City Americans (4-4-1-0).
The Americans got on the board 40 seconds into the game on a goal by Tyler Sandhu, but Alex Schoenborn got it back at 3:01 when he knocked in a rebound to even the game at 1-1, which remained the score going into the second.
Portland took their first lead 2:10 into the second on a power play when Dominic Turgeon collected his own rebound in the slot and beat netminder Evan Sarthou for a 2-1 lead. Tri-Cities evened it just under two minutes later on a power play of their own with a goal from Michael Rasmussen, making it 2-2. Sandhu added his second of the game with 31 seconds to go in the frame to give the Americans a 3-2 lead going into the third.
Tri-Cities made it a two-goal game 7:50 into the third with a power play goal from Parker Bowles to take a 4-2 lead. The Hawks pressed to cut into the deficit, but the Americans held them at bay to finish with the win.
Turgeon finished with two points for the Hawks in the loss.
The Hawks are now off until Friday, when they travel to Everett to take on the Silvertips at 7:30.
