Providence Bruins News Release

The Providence Bruins announced today that left wing Andy Hilbert will make his season debut tonight, when the team visits the Springfield Falcons at 7:35 p.m. The game can be heard live on WDDZ AM-550. Hilbert, now playing in his third professional season out of the University of Michigan, has been out of action since sustaining a groin injury during training camp.

Hilbert, a 22-year-old native of Howell, Michigan, tallied 35-35-70 totals in 64 games with Providence last season. He led the team and tied for third in the AHL in goal-scoring, and was selected to his second consecutive appearance in the AHL All-Star Classic. Hilbert has 61-62-123 totals and 193 PIM in 136 career AHL games, all with Providence. He also has 1-3-4 totals and 9 PIM in 20 career NHL games, all with the Boston Bruins. Hilbert was Boston's third pick, 37th overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.

The Bruins return home to host the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Providence Bruins Hat Night, on Friday, January 16 at 7:05 p.m. The first 4,000 fans in attendance will receive a free Providence Bruins hat, courtesy of the Rhode Island Lottery and WPRI CBS-12/WNAC Fox 64.
