Higgins to Disabled List

PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Miami Marlins announced a transaction that impacts their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Suns roster prior to tonight's game against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos at Pensacola Bayfront Stadium at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Right-handed relief pitcher Tyler Higgins has been placed on the disabled list, retroactive to June 2, with right forearm tendonitis. Higgins has pitched in 15 games in relief for the Suns this year, going 2-0 with a 4.97 ERA in 29 innings on the mound. Higgins is coming off of a brilliant May, going 2-0 with a 1.56 ERA in eight appearances during the month.

The Suns roster now stands at 24 active players, plus infielder Miguel Tejada on his rehab assignment, and a revised roster is attached.

The Suns are set to start right-hander Angel Sanchez (0-7, 6.39) in Tuesday's rubber match and he's due to be countered by Pensacola righty Michael Lorenzen (2-4, 2.80).
