Montgomery Biscuits News Release

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Biscuits (30-30) hit two home runs and led through five innings but a four-run sixth inning was the difference in an 8-5 win for the Mississippi Braves (34-25) Wednesday night at Riverwalk Stadium.

Cameron Seitzer's two-run home run in the third broke a 1-1 tie. The Biscuits kept a two-run lead until Cedric Hunter singled-in a run in the sixth to bring the Braves within a run. Later in the inning with two runners on, Seth Loman launched a home run to right to give the Braves their first lead of the game, a lead they would not give back.

Joey Rickard drove in a run with a two-out single in the sixth inning to make it a 5-4 game. After the Braves scored a run in the seventh, Alejandro Segovia hit a solo shot in the eighth to again bring the Biscuits within a run.

In the ninth inning, Hunter gave the Braves insurance with a two-run double after a costly error. The Biscuits would bring the tying run to the plate in the ninth inning before falling 8-5.

Aaron Northcraft (7-3) picked up his seventh win of the year despite allowing four runs on seven hits through six innings.

Jake Hager, Cameron Seitzer and Richie Shaffer had two hits each. Shaffer's RBI-double gave the Biscuits their first run in the first inning.

The Biscuits will open a five-game series with the Pensacola Blue Wahoos on Thursday night. LH Grayson Garvin will be on the mound for the Biscuits, while the Wahoos will throw RH Daniel Corcino. First pitch is slated for 7:05 at Riverwalk.
