October 21, 2005 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Hershey Bears News Release
It's the first meeting of the year between East Division rivals HERSHEY and Binghamton at Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena in New York's Southern Tier tonight beginning at 7:05 p.m. A win for the BEARS would be the club's third in a row.
The Senators won the East Division championship in 2004-05, clinching the title against HERSHEY on April 16th at Broome County. The BEARS, however, won three of the six meetings last season between the two teams including a 3-2 overtime win March 18 in Binghamton. Of the top ten scorers for Binghamton against HERSHEY a season ago, only two (Denis Hamel and Charlie Stephens) remain on the roster this season. On the HERSHEY side of things, defenseman Martin Wilde picked up a goal and an assist the last time the BEARS won at Binghamton on March 18. It was the only multi-point game of Wilde's HERSHEY career.
Tonight's game is the first of two between the clubs this weekend. Binghamton pays a visit to GIANT Center Sunday at 5:00 p.m. The game this evening can be heard via the BEARS radio network on 100.1 FM WQIC. Pennlive.com and B2 Networks will also carry the game this evening, with both links available through HersheyBears.com. John Walton has the call of the game from Binghamton beginning at 6:45 p.m. Tickets are available for this weekend's games against Hartford (Saturday at 7:00 p.m.) and Binghamton (Sunday at 5:00 p.m.) by visiting the GIANT Center box office, or by calling (717) 508-BEAR.
