Bears win at Binghamton 4-3

HERSHEY took a 1-0 lead on the power play at the 9:30 mark of the first period. Former Senators forward Brooks Laich scored his third goal of the season against Binghamton goaltender Billy Thompson. Lawrence Nycholat earned his first point of the season on the goal. The BEARS ran the score to 2-0 before intermission when Martin Wilde fired a shot from center point that was redirected into the net by Joey Tenute. Tenute's first goal in a HERSHEY uniform gave the BEARS a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes.

The BEARS broke out to a 3-0 lead when Laich scored his second power play goal of the game at 1:12 of the second period, but watched Binghamton score the next two lamp-lighters. Filip Novak and Greg Watson posted goals for the Senators before the end of the second period to cut HERSHEY'S lead to just one heading into the third period.

In the third period, Binghamton tied the game on a short-handed goal from Joe Cullen at 14:13, but regained the lead with a Tomas Fleischmann goal just seventeen seconds later at 14:30. The BEARS won their third game in a row, and the second in a row on the road.

The BEARS head home to face the Hartford Wolf Pack Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. The game marks Hartford's only visit to GIANT Center during the 2005-06 season. HERSHEY is also home Sunday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. when the Senators visit central PA for the first time this season.
