Hens Win Third Straight in Front of a Sold-Out Crowd

Ronny Rodriguez third home run of the season propelled the Toledo Mud Hens over division rival the Columbus Clippers 2-0 in front of a sold-out crowd at Fifth Third Field. This is the Hens third win in a row and second in a row at home.

A Dawel Lugo single plated Mikie Mahtook in the third inning to open the scoring. Rodriguez's home run would come right after stretch time in the bottom of the seventh inning and was the final run of the contest.

The Toledo pitching staff through a combined nine scoreless innings allowing six hits, one walk and striking out 11. This is the Mud Hens fourth shutout of the campaign.

A.J. Ladwig recorded the victory going three innings, giving up five hits, striking out one, walking one and allowing no runs.

Louis Coleman recorded his second save in as many days and his seventh of the season. He went one inning allowing one hit, striking out one, walking none and allowing no runs.

In the eight inning, the bases were loaded, and second baseman Harold Castro made a diving stop to keep the shutout alive for the Mud Hens.

The Mud Hens were one for one with runners in scoring position and left two runners on base. The Clippers were one for six with runners in scoring position and eight runners were stranded on base.

Toledo currently sits second in the International League in fewest errors at ten on the season and had none in today's contest.

The Mud Hens will look to continue their winning streak at Fifth Third Field tomorrow night against the Clippers with the first pitch set for 6:35 p.m.
