GLENS FALLS, NY - James Henry scored with 74 seconds remaining in regulation to give the Thunder a 2-1 win over the Worcester Railers in front of 4,108 fans on Military Appreciation Night at Cool Insuring Arena.

Kelly Summers found a loose puck along the right-side boards and snapped a pass to the Thunder captain who caught the Railers defense on a change. Henry took two strides inside the Thunder offensive zone and bombed a slap-shot in the far-side top corner to beat Railers goalie Mitch Gillam and give the Thunder a regulation victory. The assist from Summers was his first professional point.

In a game where both netminders were fantastic, it took more than 30 minutes of action before either side could affect the scoreboard. That happened when Peter MacArthur ripped home a shot from behind the Worcester net that banked off Gillam and into the cage. MacArthur outhustled the Railers defense and placed a perfect wrist-shot off the shoulder of Gillam that fell into the net for a 1-0 Thunder lead.

That score would remain until halfway through the final period when Josh Holmstrom put the Railers on the board at the 10:21 mark. The Worcester forward charged the net with Desmond Bergin playing tight defense. Both skaters fell down and the puck somehow found its way past Alex Sakellaropoulos to knot the game at one.

The battle looked like it was going to overtime before Henry lit the lamp with his second goal of the season.

Sakellaropoulos was a rock in net for the Thunder as he turned away 33 of the 34 shots he faced for his second win of the season.

Gillam was every bit his equal as he collected 23 saves on 25 shots and for the second time this week kept the Railers in the game at Cool Insuring Arena.

Adirondack wraps up its homestand Tuesday evening when the Newfoundland Growlers visit Glens Falls for the first time in franchise history. For the latest Thunder news, be sure to follow the team on Facebook and Twitter (@ECHLThunder).
