TONIGHT
The Heat look to complete a weekend sweep of the San Diego Gulls with Saturday's 6 p.m. puck drop at Stockton Arena. Stockton erased a 2-0 deficit en route to the decisive 5-2 win in Friday's contest.
The Heat are now 3-2-0-0 on the year against the Gulls after Friday's victory, the first of the season in three tries on home ice against San Diego. Saturday's showdown is the final meeting between the teams at Stockton Arena.
HOME SWEET HOME
The Heat have won four-straight games at Stockton Arena after Friday's 5-2 win over San Diego, a span that includes wins over the Gulls, San Jose Barracuda and Colorado Eagles. In those four games, Stockton has outscored its opposition by an aggregate of 20-8.
COMEBACK KIDS
For the second-straight game, an early deficit proved to not be an issue as Stockton tallied five unanswered scores to close out the game with a 5-2 win. The Heat trailed 2-0 in the first period until Tyler Graovac's marker with 4:42 remaining in the opening period, followed by three scores in a span of 3:42 in the third to put the game out of reach.
HIP HIP, DUBE
Dillon Dube hit the 30-point mark on the season with his second three-point effort of the campaign in Friday night's game, posting a goal and two assists in the win. Dube, who now has 10 goals in 27 AHL games, now has eight multi-point games on the year and has nine points (3g,6a) in Stockton's last five games.
GILLY GILLY
Jon Gillies has offered stability between the pipes for the Heat of late, earning the starting nod in six of the last seven games and winning five of his last six appearances. Gillies stopped 34 of 36 shots faced in Friday's win over San Diego and has stopped 179 of 193 shots faced (.927 SVP) over those last six appearances.
ON THE PLUS SIDE
Juuso Valimaki continued his strong play since joining the Heat with a goal and another plus-2 performance on Friday. The rookie defenseman comes into tonight's game with a plus-10 rating over his last five contests and is a plus-7 through 12 AHL games.
QUINE SITTING ON 49
Alan Quine recorded his team-leading 13th multi-point game of the season with a pair of assists on Friday, bringing his total to 31 helpers on the year. Quine enters Saturday's game with 49 points on the season and will look to reach 50 for the first time since the 2014-15 season.
