Welychka Assigned to Fuel

ROCKFORD, Ill - The American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs today announced they have assigned forward Brett Welychka to their ECHL affiliate, the Indy Fuel.

Welychka, 24, has skated in a career-high 18 AHL games with Rockford this season, totaling 11 shots on goal. He made his team debut on Nov. 2 at Milwaukee and recorded a shot in a season-high four straight games from Nov. 20 - Feb. 8.

The London, Ontario native returns to Indy where he has logged 23 points (10g, 13a) in 27 games in 2018-19. Welychka has posted four multi-point efforts with the Fuel, and currently boasts a three-game point streak with two goals and three assists from Jan. 25-27.

Overall, Welychka has tallied one goal and one assists in 26 career AHL games over the last two seasons.

Next Home Game: March 1 vs. Grand Rapids | 7 p.m.

The Rockford IceHogs return home to host the Grand Rapids Griffins on Country Night at the BMO Harris Bank Center. The first 1,500 fans to arrive will receive a FREE bandana, thanks to Texas Roadhouse.
