Game Day Build-Up: Senators vs. Moose, March 2

March 2, 2019 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Belleville Senators News Release

The set-up

The Belleville Senators made it 16 straight games with a point Friday but will look to get two Saturday when they host the Manitoba Moose for the second straight night.

Belleville (29-23-3-4) gained a point but fell two points behind Utica in the race for the final North Division playoff spot after the Comets won Friday.

Manitoba (27-25-3-2) moved to just two points out of a playoff spot with Friday's win as they trail Rockford with a game in hand too.

Friday's loss was the first overtime home loss of the season for Belleville who are now 17-8-1-2 at home this season.

Roster notes

Nothing new overnight for the Senators roster wise while head coach Troy Mann didn't fully commit to Marcus Hogberg starting again tonight, although one would expect the Swedish netminder to get the nod once again.

Andrew Sturtz, Justin Falk and Morgan Klimchuk are out for Belleville.

Previous history

After entering Friday's game 3-3 all time against Manitoba, the Moose now have a slight edge over Belleville in the series between the two Canadian sides. The Senators are 1-1-1-0 this season against the Moose.

Who to watch

Sens forward Darren Archibald had a goal Friday and now has three goals in his last two games. Since being acquired from Utica, Archibald has 11 points (five goals) in 13 games for the Senators.

Moose forward Seth Griffith buried the overtime winner Friday and leads the team in scoring this season with 43 points (12 goals).

Where to watch

Saturday's game starts at 7:00pm and can also be seen on AHLTV. Fans can also watch tonight's contest at Shoeless Joe's in Belleville.

The radio broadcast on CJBQ 800 begins at 6:50pm with Jack Miller on the call and David Foot on colour.
