Heat Fall in Shootout 3-2

HAMILTON ON - Despite rallying twice in the third period, the Abbotsford Heat fell 3-2 in the shootout to the Hamilton Bulldogs on Wednesday night in AHL action.

Max Pacioretty scored a pair of goals for the Bulldogs to give Hamilton leads of 1-0 and 2-1.

But goals in the third period by Hugo Carpentier, (his first) and Lance Bouma (his sixth) helped earn the Heat a single point.

Leland Irving and Curtis Sanford put on a great goaltender's duel in the nets on Wednesday.

Irving turned aside 31 of 33 shots, while Sanford stopped 37 of 39 Heat shots thrown at him.

With the single point, the Heat move into a second place tie with the Toronto Marlies in the North Division.

The two teams will square off in a double header on Friday night and Saturday afternoon in Toronto.

Game time on Friday night will be 4 PM, with the Saturday game kicking off at Noon Pacific from the Ricoh Coliseum.
