Crunch Announce Roster Moves

Syracuse, NY (December 1, 2010) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Anaheim Ducks have reassigned left wing Josh Brittain from Syracuse to Elmira (ECHL). In addition, the Crunch have assigned left wing John Kurtz to Elmira.

Brittain, 20, has appeared in 10 games with the Crunch this season, posting one assist and 43 penalty minutes. Brittain appeared in 68 combined Ontario Hockey League (OHL) contests with Barrie and Plymouth in 2009-10, tallying 32 points (15g, 17a) and 130 penalty minutes. A native of Milton, Ontario, Brittain was selected by Anaheim in the third round, 71st overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

Kurtz, 21, has appeared in 15 games with the Crunch this season, recording one assist and 28 penalty minutes. Kurtz skated in 62 games with Sudbury (OHL) in 2009-10, registering 46 points (30g, 16a) and 59 penalty minutes. He was signed by the Crunch to an amateur tryout contract on March 29, 2009 and made his professional debut on March 31, 2009 vs. Hershey. A native of Oakville, Ontario, Kurtz was signed by the Crunch to an American Hockey League contract on September 1, 2010.

The Crunch's next game in on Friday, December 3 vs. Rochester at 7:35 p.m. at the Blue Cross Arena. The Crunch return home after a four-game road trip to battle Adirondack on Friday, December 10 at 7:30 p.m. Season and single-game tickets for the 2010-11 season are on sale and can be purchased by calling the Crunch office at (315) 473- 4444, or by stopping by the Crunch office in the War Memorial at Oncenter, located at 800 South State Street in downtown Syracuse.
