Healey selected as Rampage captain

SAN ANTONIO – Oct. 14, 2004 – The San Antonio Rampage have announced that right wing Paul Healey has been selected to serve as Captain for the Rampage for the 2004-2005 season. He becomes the second player to be honored as Captain for the Rampage, who enter their third American Hockey League (AHL) season.

"Paul epitomizes what a captain is and should be," said Rampage head coach Steve Ludzik.

Healey, 29, enters his 10th professional season and begins his second year with the Rampage after the Florida Panthers acquired the Edmonton, Alberta native from the New York Rangers for Jeff Paul last season (Mar. 9, 2004). The 6-foot-2, 207-pound forward appeared in 50 games with the Rangers AHL affiliate, Hartford Wolf Pack, tallying 21 points on 11 goals and 10 assists before joining San Antonio and netting 10 points (5-5=10) in 18 games. He finished the season with 31 points (16-15=31) in 68 AHL games and four NHL games (zero points) for the Rangers.
