Governor Rell Declares October 16 Hartford Wolf Pack Hockey Day

Hartford, October 14, 2004: In an official statement received by the Hartford Wolf Pack hockey club today, Her Excellency, M. Jodi Rell, Governor of the State of Connecticut, has proclaimed Saturday, October 16 "Hartford Wolf Pack Hockey Day" in the State of Connecticut.

In her statement, Governor Rell congratulates the team on their upcoming opening night and recognizes the team's "long tradition of providing first-class athletic competition and a fun-packed event for all."

She goes on to state the team's "commitment and drive is an inspiration to all of Connecticut's residents and a testament to their strength and determination."

The team opens it's eighth American Hockey League season on Saturday, October 16 versus the Philadelphia Phantoms. Game time is 7:05 p.m. The game will be preceded by a laser and pyrotechnics display.

The AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack hockey club is part of Madison Square Garden LP. Cablevision Systems Corporation owns a controlling interest in MSG LP, which also includes the New York Rangers (NHL), New York Knicks (NBA), the New York Liberty (WNBA), the MSG Network, Fox Sports Net and the Madison Square Garden arena complex.
