Wolf Pack Open Season Saturday
October 14, 2004 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Connecticut Whale News Release
Hartford, October 14, 2004: The Hartford Wolf Pack are hungry to get the 2004-05 season started. With the league's most valuable player in goaltender Jason LaBarbera and the AHL's top goal-scorer in Jeff Hamilton, the team is set to defend their regular season Eastern Conference title.
The club opens the season on Saturday, October 16 versus the Philadelphia Phantoms. Last year, the club shut out the Phantoms 4-0 on February 13. That zero turned out to be Jason LaBarbera's tenth shutout of the season, and the game that broke the previous league record of nine. The teams tied 3-3 on January 30.
The pre-game laser and pyrotechnics show will begin around 6:55 p.m., so fans are encouraged to come early to see this amazing display of light and sound and not miss the introduction of their 2004-05 Wolf Pack.
Opening Night is sponsored by The Hartford Financial Services Group, which purchased 750 tickets and donated them to three Hartford schools - West Middle Elementary School, Quirk Middle School and Hartford Public High School. All fans at the game will also receive a long-sleeved T-shirt and schedule magnet courtesy of The Hartford.
Although construction continues on the Civic Center Mall and Hartford 21 projects, all entrances to the Civic Center will be accessible. Ticket holders are encouraged to use the entrances on Church Street across from the parking garages. Fans wanting to buy tickets on game night must still use the front entrance off Trumbull Street.
Ticket prices range from $16 to $24 for adults in advance ($18 to $30 day-of-game) and $8 to $12 for youth ages 16 and under ($9 to $15 day-of-game) and can be purchased at all Ticketmaster locations including Filene's at the Buckland Hills Mall and at the Westfarms Mall. Tickets may also be charged by phone at (860) 525-4500, (203) 744-8100, (203) 624-0033 or (413) 733-2500 or online at www.Ticketmaster.com. Tickets are also available at the Hartford Civic Center Box Office
