Harrisburg Senators News Release
The Harrisburg Senators have announced the home portion of their 2012 schedule today. Once again, the team plays 71 games at home beginning on Thursday, April 12 and finishing on Monday, September 3. They play on two holidays, May 28 (Memorial Day) and September 3 (Labor Day). The Senators will celebrate the Fourth of July on July 3 against Erie at 7:00 p.m.
The most common opponent at Metro Bank Park in 2012 is the Reading Phillies. Reading opens the Sens home schedule with a four-game series, April 12-15, then another four-game series Memorial Day Weekend, May 25-28, and their final visit a three-game series, August 20-22.
Division rivals the Bowie Baysox and Richmond Flying Squirrels both play 10 games at Metro Bank Park next season. Western Division foes Altoona and Erie both play seven games in Harrisburg while the Akron Aeros play just one three-game series at Metro Bank Park in 2012.
The Trenton Thunder and Portland SeaDogs play just one three-game series each at Metro Bank Park next year. The two series will be your only opportunity to see future Yankees and Red Sox in Harrisburg.
Once again next year start times are 7:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. There are two 10:30 a.m. games in May with one on May 9 against Richmond and the second on May 31 against Portland. There are three weekday noon games on the schedule in 2012. The first one is Wednesday, June 27 against Altoona, then on July 25 against New Hampshire and finally on August 22 against Reading. Two other exceptions to the start times are on Memorial Day, May 28 against Reading, which is a 6:00 p.m. start, and on Labor Day, September 3 against Bowie, which is a 2:00 p.m. start time.
The 2011 season still has 17 home games remaining as the Senators are vying to make the playoffs for a second year in a row. Many exciting dates remain including The Racing Presidents this weekend, the Cowboy Monkeys on September 1 and more. Tickets are available on game days 10:00 a.m. until the end of the game, and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until the end of the game. Box office hours on non-game days are Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tickets are available via telephone during the same hours as the box office hours. Tickets are also available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, online at www.senatorsbaseball.com.
