SHOWDOWN WITH THE SENATORS: The Flying Squirrels and Harrisburg Senators open a three-game series tonight at Metro Bank Park, the final meeting of the season between the two clubs...Harrisburg enters the series with a 1 1/2 game lead over Richmond for the Western Division lead...The Flying Squirrels have won 12 of the 18 meetings between the two clubs this season including each of the last three and two of the three contests played in Harrisburg...Richmond has outscored Harrisburg 81-55 in the season series, and Flying Squirrels batters are hitting .293 against the Senators while the club's pitchers are limiting the Sens to a .228 batting average.

OFF DAY AFTER A DAY OFF': The Flying Squirrels are 2-5 this season following scheduled off days...The club's only two wins following a scheduled off day came 4/25 against Trenton and 6/21 at Harrisburg...Richmond has only one more scheduled off day this season (8/15) and will conclude the season playing 22 games in 21 days including a doubleheader 8/23 at Altoona.

LOUISVILLE SLUGGER: Third baseman Chris Dominguez went 1-for-4 on Sunday night...In the three-game series with Portland, he was 4-for-12, with hits in all three games of the series, with a double, a home run, three RBIs, two runs scored and four strikeouts...In his previous 22 contests, the 24-year-old was hitting just .148 (12-for-81) and had seen his average drop from .326 to .243...The Flying Squirrels are 16-6 when Dominguez drives in a run.

HOME AND AWAY: The Flying Squirrels are 39-22 overall at home - the best home record in the league - and they are batting .261 in 60 games at The Diamond while averaging 4.52 runs per game at home (276R/61G)....Overall, the club is 23-30 on the road, and is batting .224 and averaging 3.58 runs per game (190R/53G) in 53 road contests.

FRESH PICKED: Right-hander Justin Fitzgerald picked off Portland center fielder Jeremy Hazelbaker in the top of the fifth inning Sunday night...It was the 24th baserunner picked off by Richmond pitchers this season and third picked off by Fitzgerald.

PITCHING IN: The Flying Squirrels pitching staff leads the Eastern League with a 3.33 ERA through 114 games and has allowed a league-low 437 runs...Richmond's pitching staff has allowed two runs or less in 44 of its 114 games (39%)...Starting pitching has allowed three runs or less in 81 of the team's 114 games (71%) and the club is 55-26 in those contests.
