
Hand injury sidelined prospect for month and a half

Harrisburg, PA - Shortstop Ian Desmond was activated from the Disabled List on Monday. He had been on the DL since June 4th with a hand injury.
Desmond, 22, opened the season with Harrisburg. He hit .246 with six home runs and 21 RBIs in 52 games prior to his injury. Desmond played three games in the Gulf Coast League, going 5-for-13 before returning to the Senators.
With the moves, the Senators have a full roster of 24 active players. Only seven players from the Opening Day roster remain on the active roster. Only one player from the Opening Day starting lineup (OF Mike Daniel) has remained on the active roster in Harrisburg for the entire season to date.
The Senators head to Bowie tonight for a four-game series against the Baysox. They return home on Friday, July 25th against the Altoona Curve (Double-A Pittsburgh Pirates). Tickets can be purchased by calling the Senators' box office at 231-4444 or online at www.senatorsbaseball.com.
