Harrisburg Senators News Release

Harrisburg, PA - The Harrisburg Senators dropped a 5-3 decision to the Bowie Baysox, Monday night at Prince George's Stadium. Bowie plated four runs in the bottom of the 7th against Harrisburg relievers and the offense sputtered down the stretch.

The Baysox jumped ahead in the bottom of the 1st when Sebastien Boucher drilled a solo home run to give the Baysox a 1-0 lead. It was the second home run in as many at-bats for Boucher, who launched a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th on Sunday night.

Bowie RHP Zach Clark faced the minimum through four innings, but ran into trouble in the top of the 5th. The Senators mounted a two-out rally as Javi Herrera singled and a pair of walks loaded the bases. Ian Desmond, just activated from the Disabled List earlier in the day drilled a three-run double off the wall in left to put Harrisburg up, 3-1.

The Baysox stormed back in the bottom of the 7th against the Harrisburg bullpen. Carlos Rojas and Blake Davis hit back-to-back singles off LHP Tim Bittner to lead off the inning and a sacrifice bunt moved them up. RHP Beltran Perez came on and Steve Torrealba ripped a pinch-hit two-run double to tie it at 3-3. Lou Montanez followed with an RBI triple, giving Bowie a 4-3 lead. Matt Wieters capped the rally with an RBI single to make it a 5-3 game.

Perez absorbed the loss to fall to 3-5. LHP Rommie Lewis notched the win to go to 1-5 for the Baysox. LHP Wilfredo Perez collected his first save of the season.

The Senators dipped to 56-44. Bowie advanced to 58-45.

The Senators and Baysox continue their four-game series Tuesday at 7:05 PM. RHP Adrian Alaniz (0-2, 4.05 ERA) takes the mound against Bowie RHP Jason Berken (7-3, 3.83 ERA).
