
Gwinnett beats Trenton 5-2

Atlanta Gladiators News Release
The Gwinnett Gladiators overcame a two goal deficit for the second consecutive night, this time to post a 5-2 win on Friday night over the Trenton Titans at the Arena at Gwinnett Center.
Trenton opened up a 1-0 lead 4:11 into the first period as Mathieu Brunelle beat Gladiators goaltender Sean Fields on a 2-on-1 break. Scott Bertoli and Chris Pittman hooked up to pick up the assists on the tally.
Sliding in from his point position, Stephen Wood beat Field to give the Titans a 2-0 lead. Aaron Gill fed Wood out of the corner to set up the goal. Matt Maglione also had an assist on the tally at 7:46 of the first period.
The Gladiators battled back and were able to tie the game at two before the end of the first period. Guillaume Desbiens deflected Troy Milam's slapshot from the point past Trenton netminder Dustin Traylen for the goal. Jeff Campbell also had an assist on the tally at 11:28 of the first period.
Derek Nesbitt posted his 7th goal of the season to tie the game at two goals apiece with just 38 seconds left in the first period. Parked on the off post, Nesbitt found the rebound on Troy Milam's slapshot for the tally. Jeff Dwyer also picked up an assist on the goal.
Jeff Campbell gave the Gladiators a 3-2 lead just 38 seconds into the second period, walking out of the corner untouched ripping a snapshot past Traylen. Guillaume Desbiens and Pascal Pelletier added the assists on the goal.
Gwinnett added two goals in the third period to put the game away. Brad Schell picked up the first of the period as he took a pass out of the corner from Derek Nesbitt and beat Traylen from the slot for the goal 7:47 into the third period.
Troy Milam had the second as he added a shorthanded unassisted goal for the Gladiators with 26 seconds left in the third period to close out the scoring. His goal came unassisted for the Gladiators.
Sean Fields made 24 saves for Gwinnett in the win as the Gladiators improve to 11-5-2 on the season as the Gladiators went 1-for-3 on the power play.
