Wranglers Tame Storm 5-2, Tudin Nets Hat Trick

Toledo, OH - The Las Vegas Wranglers (14-4-2, 30 points) beat the Toledo Storm (9-6-3, 21 points) 5-2 at the Toledo Sports Arena on Friday night. Winger Dan Tudin registered the first Wranglers Hat Trick of the season, helping Las Vegas improve to 4-4-1 on the road. Center Chris Stanley added two goals as the Wranglers improved to 9-0-1 in their last 10 games. Wranglers' goalie Marc Magliarditi made 12 saves, improving to 9-4-1 on the season. The Wranglers set a new team record by holding Toledo to 14 shots in the game. Las Vegas will stay in Toledo for a rematch at the Sports Arena on Saturday night at 7:30 pm EST (4:30 PST).

Las Vegas scored the lone goal of the first period just 9:17 into the game for the early 1-0 lead. Center Matt Dzieduszycki carried the puck into the Toledo zone, dropping off a pass for Steve Crampton. The Wranglers winger fired a cross-ice pass to the left wing for Dan Tudin, who finished off the play with his seventh goal of the season.

In the second period, Toledo countered to tie the game at one with a power-play goal. Former Wrangler Jeff Attard held in the puck a spotted Gerry Burke in the slot for a pass. Burke snapped his third goal of the season passed the blocker of Marc Magliarditi at 4:30 of the second period. Las Vegas countered with a 4-on-3 power-play goal midway through the period to regain their one-goal lead. Winger Charles Linglet found Chris Stanley in the right-wing circle. Stanley the wristed his eighth goal of the season inside the far post, giving the Wranglers a 2-1 lead.

In the third, Stanley added his second goal of the evening as Toledo goalie David Cann misplayed the puck in the Storm zone just 35 seconds into the period, as the Wranglers increased their lead to 3-1. Toledo cut it to 3-2 when Mike James scored off a rebound at 5:12. The Wranglers stormed back as Tudin scored his second goal of the night at 10:44 to push the lead to 4-2. Tudin capped off the hat trick at 16:12 with his third of the night, for the final score of 5-2.

On December 22nd, 2003 the Las Vegas Wranglers made professional hockey history when they hosted the first Midnight Hockey game. This year the Wranglers will host the third annual Midnight Holiday Roundup on Monday, December 19th at 11:59 pm against the Long Beach Ice Dogs. The Wranglers will also host a blood drive in conjunction with the Midnight Game. The blood drive will take place from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at the Orleans Arena. Those who donate blood will receive vouchers for Penn and Teller tickets. Fans who attend the game may also bring toys for children as part of the annual Toy Roundup. All the toys will be donated to Olive Crest. Before the game and during the intermissions, Mini KISS will perform. Mini KISS is four vertically challenge imitators of the 70's band, KISS.
