Ice Pilots Lose At Florida 4-2

Pensacola, FL - The Ice Pilots finished their three game road trip with a 4-2 loss at the Florida Everblades in front of 5,299 fans at Germain Arena in Estero, Florida.

Daniel Sisca would give the Everblades a 1-0 lead scoring his fifth goal of the season at the 13:08 mark of the first period. Sisca was right in front of the net taking a pass from Ernie Hartlieb from behind the goal and putting it by Ice Pilots goalie Todd Ford.

Jon Lehun scored on a breakaway at the 3:19 mark of the second period to give Florida a 2-0 lead. Brian Collins would put the Ice Pilots on the scoreboard scoring his fifth goal of the season at the 4:48 mark to make it a 2-1 game.

Florida would score two more goals on the power play in the second period to lead 4-1. Daniel Sisca would score his second goal of the game at the 9:54 mark shooting a hard wrist shot by goalie Todd Ford and Ernie Hartlieb would score his 10th goal of the season at the 17:46 mark.

Chris St. Jacques would score the only goal in the third period shorthanded at the 9:04 mark to make it 4-2. It would be the ninth shorthanded goal of the season for the Ice Pilots which leads the league.

The Ice Pilots had 37 shots on goal, 14 penalty minutes and went 0-7 on the power play. Florida had 27 shots on goal, 16 penalty minutes and went 2-6 on the power play. Todd Ford was the losing goalie for the Ice Pilots and Craig Kowalski picked up the win in goal for Florida.

The Ice Pilots drop their record to 8-11-3 for 19 points and Florida improves their record to 12-6-0 for 24 points.

Before the game on Friday, the Ice Pilots traded forward Dominic Noel to Dayton for defenseman Tyler Scott. Scott has played in 14 games for Dayton this season scoring 2 goals, 2 assists for 4 points picking up 8 penalty minutes and played in 40 games for Dayton last year scoring 6 goals, 10 assists for 16 points picking up 42 penalty minutes.

The Ice Pilot s will return home to play Charlotte Saturday night at a special 8:05 p.m. face-off. The game is starting at 8:05 p.m. because of the University of West Florida graduation during the day at the Pensacola Civic Center. The first 1,000 fans will receive Ice Pilots key tags. Shaun Landolt and Mark Rooneem will sign autographs after the game.
