San Diego, Calif. – Greg Barber scored once and added a pair of assists to pace the San Diego Gulls to a 4-2 win over the Bakersfield Condors in front of 5,232 fans at the Sports Arena on Saturday night.

San Diego came out with an aggressive start, and pelted Condors netminder Joe Watkins with 17 shots in the opening frame. Watkins stopped the first 15 of them, before the Gulls power play took over the game. Samy Nasraddine scored on a two-man advantage at 17:48, and scored again while still on the advantage, just 53 seconds later. Greg Barber assisted on both. The Condors managed seven shots on goal in the first and trailed 2-0 after one period.

Twice during the second frame the Condors pulled within a goal. Andrew Ianiero scored at the 5:08 mark, chipping a rebound past Trevor Koenig for his 10th of the season. Just a couple minutes later, Mark Pederson regained the two-goal cushion for the Gulls with his 30th of the season. At 11:37 of the second, Mike Barrie scored on an odd-man rush to pull the Condors back within a goal heading into the third period.

The Condors battled in the third period, but couldn't get the tying tally. San Diego rookie Barber notched his 17th goal, of the season to push the Gulls back in front by a pair at 8:06. The Condors outshot the Gulls in the final frame 12-10, but were outshot in the game 32-30, suffering the 4-2 setback.
