Dayton Bombers News Release

The Wheeling Nailers struck four times in a 5:08 sequence spanning late in the first period and early in the second in an 8-2 triumph over the Dayton Bombers at the Wheeling Civic Center Saturday night.

The Bombers erased a 1-0 first period deficit by scoring twice in a 2:59 stretch. Fraser Clair, who scored a short-handed goal in Friday's game at Trenton, won a face-off back to defenseman Jason Crain, who blasted a shot past goalie Tyler MacKay. Moments later, Clair deflected defenseman Sean Connolly's power play shot into the net to give the Bombers a 2-1 lead. Chad Theuer also assisted on the goal.

However, the Nailers scored the game's last seven goals to prevail. Bogdan Rudenko tallied twice for Wheeling, while J.F. Dufour, Steve Crampton, Mario LaRocque, Brendan Hodge, Jake Ortmeyer, and Dan Ennis also converted.

The Bombers' 1725-mile road trip will reach its third and final leg today in Reading against the Royals (1:05 p.m.). The Bombers will return home on Friday, February 6 to host the Wheeling Nailers at the Nutter Center.
