Fresno Falcons News Release

FRESNO, Calif. – After shutting out the Bakersfield Condors during each team 's season opener on Oct. 17, the Fresno Falcons lost for the sixth consecutive game to their Highway 99 rivals on Friday at Save Mart Center, 4-2, in front of a crowd of 4,452.

Coming off a 6-0 blanking of Fresno on Tuesday during which the Condors' Jason Ralph scored on his team's first two shots on goal, Ralph again tallied on Bakersfield's first shot of the game for his 16th of the year at 1:03 of the opening period. John Wroblewski ended a scoreless streak of 127:27 for the Falcons dating back to the first period last Sunday in a game against the Las Vegas Wranglers when he tied the game at one with a short-handed goal at 13:54 of the first.

Ralph lit the lamp - marking his second straight two-goal game versus Fresno - at 3:24 of the second, giving his club a 2-1 lead they would hold until the third period.

In the final 20 minutes, Fresno could not manage the equalizer despite having three power plays during the period's first 13 minutes. Paul Willett gave Bakersfield some insurance at 17:10 on the power play before Jimmy Drolet added an empty-net, short-handed goal to ice the game at 18:11. Still on the power play, the Falcons' Michael Kiesman tallied his ninth of the year at 18:34 for the final margin.

The Falcons leave for Las Vegas immediately following tonight's game and will take on the Wranglers tomorrow at Orleans Arena. Tomorrow's game can be heard live on KAAT 103.1 FM beginning at 6:50 p.m. with the pre-game show.

The team's next game at Save Mart Center is Wednesday, Feb. 4, at 7 p.m. when they host the Northern Division's Trenton Titans.
