
Grrrowl training camp begins on Saturday

GREENVILLE, SC - The Greenville Grrrowl announced today their training camp schedule for 2005-06. The Grrrowl open camp on October 8th, with players reporting for physicals, then hitting the BI-LO Center ice at 11 a.m. for the first time this season.
Fans are encouraged to get a glimpse of this season's Grrrowl squad, as all practices will be open to the public at no charge. Fans can park in the VIP Lot, located off Church Street, for all practices.
Coach John Marks will put the players through "two-a-days" from October 9th through the 11th, as training camp continues at the BI-LO Center. Players will skate at 9:30 a.m. and again at 2 p.m. those days.
On October 12th, the players will skate once, with a practice at 10 a.m.
On October 13th, the Grrrowl will head to the Augusta Ice Sports Center to play the Augusta Lynx at 7 p.m. for a pre-season scrimmage.
The Grrrowl will host a scrimmage the following night, October 14th, as the South Carolina Stingrays head to the BI-LO Center for a 7:05 p.m. exhibition game. There will be no charge for admission, and fans may again park for free in the VIP Lot. While the game will be free to the public, the Grrrowl will be accepting monetary donations to aid the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Training camp will continue on October 16th, and daily practices (usually beginning at 10 a.m.) will last until October 20th, at which time the team will be set and the Grrrowl will finalize preparations for its eighth season in the ECHL. Greenville will open with a road game on October 21st, then host the Charlotte Checkers the following night at the BI-LO Center.
