Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers announced today the team has agreed to terms with left wing Shawn Limpright.
"Shawn was a big lift to our team last year after we picked him up in a trade with Dayton", said Wranglers General Manager / Head Coach Glen Gulutzan. "He is a player who is not afraid to get in the corners and dig the puck out. He plays with an edge out there so other players need to be aware of where he is on the ice at all times. Shawn also brings some offense to the table."
Limpright is currently in camp with the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League. The 24-year old Limpright enters his fourth professional season after splitting time between Las Vegas and Dayton last season. Limpright played 42 games with the Wranglers during the 2004-05 season, scoring 10 goals and adding 30 assists. Limpright also racked up 96 penalty minutes in his tenure with Las Vegas. In 29 games with the Dayton Bombers last season, the left wing scored five goals and added nine assists for 14 points. The St. Adolphe, MAN native also amassed 63 penalty minutes. Limpright has played 206 games for his career, scoring 56 goals and assisting on 74 others for 130 points. The 5-foot-11, 185-pounder also has 479 penalty minutes for his career.
Forwards Charles Linglet and Derek Edwardson are enjoying success in the AHL. Edwardson, who signed a contract to play for the Wranglers on September 13th, has signed a 25-game player tryout agreement (PTO) with the Portland Pirates. The Wranglers acquired the rights to former Alaska forward Charles Linglet on June 6th as the future consideration in a previous trade. Linglet was invited to the Peoria Rivermen's camp and performed well enough to sign a 25-game PTO. A player may be released from a PTO at anytime. If either player is released by their respective team and they wish to play in the ECHL, they can only play for Las Vegas during the 2005-06 season.
The Wranglers now have 18 players on their roster. If Limpright is assigned, he will join goalie Marc Magliarditi, defensemen Mike McBain, Christian Chartier, Tim Hambly, Lee Green, Tyler Sloan and Scott Schoneck. Forwards Chris Stanley, Dan Tudin, Dustin Johner, Darren Lynch, Chris Neiszner, Dana Lattery, Evan Schwabe, Thomas Bellemare, Marco Peluso, Jordan Cameron and Todd Alexander are all signed for the upcoming 2005-06 season. Wranglers training camp opens on Thursday, October 6th.
The Wranglers will open the 2005-06 home season at the Orleans Arena on Tuesday, October 25th at 7:05 pm against the Utah Grizzlies. Wranglers' ticket locations are the Orleans Arena Box Office, Coast Casinos' showroom box offices at The Orleans, Gold Coast, Suncoast and South Coast (opening in 2006) or at the Boulevard, Galleria or Meadows Malls guest relations/ticket centers.
