Steelheads get another forward from Stars
October 5, 2005 - ECHL (ECHL)
Idaho Steelheads News Release
DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Stars Director of Hockey Operations Scott White announced that the club has reassigned forward D'Arcy McConvey (mc-on-vay) to the club's ECHL affiliate, the Idaho Steelheads.
Idaho Steelheads Head Coach Derek Laxdal said, "I got a chance to watch McConvey at Iowa's camp. He's a very skilled centerman that will be a great addition on our top line between Mike Stutzel and Garrett Bembridge. This line is a line that may not be here all year because they are good enough to play at the next level."
McConvey, a 5'10, 190-pound, 24-year-old, posted 23 goals and 31 assists in 60 games last season with the Columbia Inferno of the ECHL. Prior to Columbia, he played four years with Bowling Green State University where he tallied 31 goals and 71 assists (102 points) in 153 games. He will join the Steelheads' training camp, which reports for physicals on October 6th.
The Idaho Steelheads are the double-A developmental affiliate of the American Hockey League's Iowa Stars and the National Hockey League's Dallas Stars.
