Grrrowl Extend Winning Streak to Three Games

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Greenville Grrrowl and Charlotte Checkers, both, brought modest two game winning streaks to the BI-LO Center Friday night. The Grrrowl scored two goals 18 seconds apart in the first 1:40 of the game, and extended their winning streak to 3 games with a 3-2 win over the Checkers.

JUDD MEDAK and MIKKO SIVONEN scored those first period goals, and MIKE HURLEY added a powerplay goal in the third period as Greenville improved to 4-2-2 on the season. JONATHAN ROY added an assist on Greenville's second goal, and now has points in 7 of 8 Grrrowl games this season (4-6-10 pts.).

Goaltender MICHAEL GARNETT stopped 30 of 32 shots and earned his second win of the season.

The Checkers outshot the Grrrowl, 32-21, in front of 5122 at the BI-LO Center.

The Grrrowl remain home to host the Southeast Division rival Pee Dee Pride tomorrow (Saturday) at 7:05 PM (Newsradio 1330 & 950, WORD).
