Greensboro Generals News Release
GREENSBORO GENERALS
The Generals dropped a 4-2 decision to the Pee Dee Pride last night at the Coliseum. Chris Bell put the Generals on top just 39 seconds into the contest, but despite tremendous pressure they couldn't extend the lead. Pee Dee turned the game around in the final three minutes of the first period, scoring twice to jump in the lead for good. With the Pride up 3-1 in the second period, Greensboro's Sam Ftorek scored a power play goal to draw the team within one. However, Pee Dee quickly regained their two-goal lead and held off a Generals' third period charge. .
LEXINGTON MEN O' WAR
The Men O' War defeated the Johnstown Chiefs 4-3 on the road last night. Lexington leapt out to an early 2-0 lead on goals from David Del Monte and Adrianno Fiacconi, and never looked back. After Johnstown reduced the lead to 2-1, Jared Smyth brought the lead back to two midway through the second period. The Chiefs would again close the gap, making the score 3-2, but Mark Smith provided what proved to big a critical insurance goal with seven minutes left in the game. The Chiefs provided the final score of the game with a goal in the final minute.
