Darcy Robison Joins Nailers in Reading

WHEELING, WV The Wheeling Nailers announce today that Darcy Robinson will join the Nailers for their game in Reading on Friday night. Robinson will be assigned from the Nailers American Hockey League affiliate, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

Robinson is in his second year of professional hockey. Last season he appeared in ten games with the Nailers, recording five points on two goals and three assists. He played most of last season for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins appearing in 40 games. Robinson had five points in the AHL last year, all on assists. This season he has played in five games with the AHL Penguins and has two assists.

"Robinson is a great defenceman and we are glad to have him with us against Reading," stated Nailers head coach John Brophy. "When he played for our team last season he played hard and came here with a great attitude and I wouldn't expect anything less of him this time. With Soucy out on a suspension, Robinson will fill a big hole on the blue line for us."

The Nailers play two home games this weekend. On Saturday the Toledo Storm are in Wheeling at 7:30p.m. for Thunder Sticks night sponsored by WTRF – TV. On Sunday the Dayton Bombers are at the Wheeling Civic Center for a 6:00p.m. game with fans having a chance to skate with the Nailers players after the game.
