Grrrowl acquire toughness in deal with Condors

GREENVILLE, SC – The Greenville Grrrowl of the ECHL, proud affiliates of the Chicago Blackhawks and Edmonton Oilers, have announced the acquisition of JON MIRASTY (F) from the Bakersfield Condors in exchange for the rights to JONATHAN ZION (D). Mirasty finished with 358 penalty minutes for the 2003-04 season, good enough for second place in the final regular season ECHL record book.

JON MIRASTY (5-10, 220lbs., forward) played in one game this past weekend with Bakersfield. Mirasty attended training camp with the Norfolk Admirals (AHL) with six current Grrrowl team members, and is in his second professional season. Mirasty was traded to the Grrrowl for the rights to defenseman JONATHAN ZION who is currently playing with the Utah Grizzlies of the AHL. Mirasty is expected to be in the line-up against the Columbia Inferno tonight at the BI-LO Center.

The Grrrowl will be in action on Tuesday night at the BI-LO Center against the Columbia Inferno at 7:05pm, and will finish out the home stand on Friday night against the South Carolina Stingrays at 7:05pm.
