Augusta Lynx News Release

The Augusta Lynx announced Tuesday that they have re-signed defenseman Lawne Snyder to the club while releasing forward Jason Norrie.

Snyder, who attended training camp with the Lynx before being released earlier in the week, was re-signed for action this weekend against the Gwinnett Gladiators. To make room for the former Elmira College Soaring Eagle, the Lynx have released veteran forward Jason Norrie.

"Snyder's seemed very comfortable with the puck, and he's got good vision out on the ice," said Lynx Head Coach Stan Drulia. "We've needed to get Todd Bennett back up on the wing, and Snyder will enable us to do just that for this weekend against Gwinnett."

Before turning pro, Snyder spent four years with the Elmira College Soaring Eagles, leading all Division III defenseman in scoring last year and finishing sixth in scoring among all players. In just 24 games the Toronto, Ont. native registered 14 goals and 37 points, with 11 of those goals coming on the power play, tying him for first in the nation with teammate Jarrett Konkle. After last year's stellar performance, Snyder was named an ACHA JOFA First Team All-American, as well as being selected for the ECAC West All-Conference First Team.

The Lynx will play only once this week, on Friday night in Gwinnett against the Gladiators. Game time is 7:35 pm with the pre-game show starting at 7:05 pm on NEWSTALKSPORTS 1630 with the Voice of the Lynx, Tom Callahan. Augusta's next home game will be November 12th against the Charlotte Checkers at 7:35 pm.
