
Grizzlies Can't Stop the Offense of the Admirals; Lose 6-3

West Valley City, Utah- When your hot your hot and right now the offense of the Milwaukee Admirals is scorching putting up 22 goals in the last three games, all victories. On Saturday night, Milwaukee scored the first four goals of the game and cruised to a 6-3 victory over the Utah Grizzlies who are 0-4 this season versus the defending Calder Cup champs.
Milwaukee scored a pair of first period goals, one by Wyatt Smith and the other by Darren Haydar, as they outshot the Grizzlies 16-8 in the first frame. The goal by Smith gives him seven points (3-4 -7) in the last four games.
Milwaukee had several power plays that carried over into the second period and were able to capaitilze with one five-on-three goal and another conventional power play to push the score to 4-0. Simon Gamache and Brad Tiley scored the man advantage markers for the Admirals.
Later in the period, Jeff Taffe would get the Grizzlies on the board on a great give-and-go with Peter White. For Taffe, if was his fourth goal of the season and it cut the score to 4-1. Milwaukee's Libor Pivko would add a shorthanded goal making the score 5-1 and just before the end of the period the Grizzlies special teams would make some noise as Nick Tselios blasted a one-timer past Seamus Kotyk putting the score to 5-2 after two period.
The third period saw each team get a goal with Milwaukee's coming on Timofei Shishkanov's blast from the slot at the 7:53 mark of period. For the second year player, it marked the fourth consecutive game he has lit the lamp. Utah's Martin Sonnenberg would tack on a late goal with less than a second remaining making the final score 6-3.
Utah had trouble all night with discipline taking 23 penalties for 95 minutes. The trouble for Utah gave Milwaukee 13 power plays on the night, they scored three of them and also notched a shorthanded goal.
Jean-Marc Pelletier made 43 saves in the game as Milwaukee outshot the Grizzlies 49-24. Seamus Kotyk improved to 4-0 on the season making 21 saves.
The loss marks the eighth straight game without a win for the Grizzlies.
Utah will take on the San Antonio Rampage on Tuesday night at the 'E* Center. Face-off is scheduled for 7:05 PM at the 'E' Center.
