Fresno Grizzlies News Release

FRESNO, Calif. - Jed Hansen hit a walk-off home run in the 9th to beat the Tucson Sidewinders Tuesday night at Grizzlies Stadium.

Hansen's fourth home run of the year finished off the Grizzlies rally that started in the 8th inning. Trailing 2-1 going into the bottom of the 8th the Grizzlies' Todd Linden pinch hit with one out and singled into left-center field. Linden's single was followed by a Fred Lewis single and a fielding error advanced Linden to third base. Shortstop Tim Hutting hit a ground ball to the shortstop that drove in Linden tying the game at two a piece, which set the stage for Hansen's walk-off.

Jack Taschner (3-2) entered the game in the 9th and struck out the side to pick up his third win of the season. Tony Pena (0-1) suffered the loss after pitching 0.2 innings and giving up the game-winning home run.

The Grizzlies (23-29) took an early 1-0 lead thanks to Daniel Ortmeier's sacrifice fly that scored Fred Lewis in the first inning. The Grizzlies relinquished the lead in the 7th inning when Kenny Perez hit an RBI single off of Jeff Miller. Tucson took the lead the following inning when Chris Young hit a home run off Jeff Miller.

Starter Matt Kinney had another quality start at Grizzlies Stadium as he shut down the Sidewinders through six innings striking out five.

The Grizzles defeated Tucson (29-24) for the fourth straight time at Grizzlies Stadium and are now 9-4 against the Sidewinders this season.

The series continues Wednesday night at 7:05 as James Garcia takes the mound against former Grizzly Russ Ortiz, who is on a rehab assignment for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
