New Orleans Baby Cakes News Release
Washington Nationals right handed pitcher Pedro Astacio made his first rehab start for New Orleans on Wednesday night in Omaha.
He allowed three runs in four plus innings of work. Allowed five hits, one walk and struck out one batter while throwing 61 pitches, 41 for strikes.
Kevin Gryboski relieved Astacio and allowed two inherited runs to score on two hits.
He exited the game as the pitcher of record on the losing side. The Royals led the game 3-0 at the end of five innings. Nationals have placed him on the 60-day disabled list with a right forearm strain back on April 1st.
The 37 year old veteran of 14 major league seasons is expected to make another rehab start for the Zephyrs in Memphis this Monday against the Redbirds.
