Grizzlies to Face Bakersfield in First Round Starting Friday

West Valley City, Utah - The third seeded Utah Grizzlies, who finished the ECHL season 38-24-3-6, will host the sixth seeded Bakersfield Condors in the first round of the ECHL's Kelly Cup Playoffs that open Friday and Saturday at Maverik Center.

Playoff tickets are on sale now at www.utahgrizzlies.com, Maverik Center box office or any Ticketmaster location.

Group discounts for parties of 10 or more and catered luxury suites are available for purchase by calling (801) 988-8800.

The opponent became finalized following the Condors (36-30-2-4) 4-1 loss at home this evening to league worst Las Vegas (20-44-4-4).

It marks the first time ever that the two teams will meet in the post-season. Utah finished the season with four-straight wins against the Condors and went 4-2 overall against them; including 2-0 at Maverik Center.

The Grizzlies hold home ice advantage after earning second place in the Mountain Division and third place overall in the Western Conference. Their 23-6-2-5 home record ranked second best in the entire ECHL and tied the Grizzlies all-time record for fewest home losses in a season last set by the Denver Grizzlies in 1994-95.

All games will be broadcast live on 1320 KFAN, 1320KFAN.com, the 1320 KFAN app and iHeart Radio. In addition all games can be seen for $8 PPV at www.utahgrizzlies.com.

Saturday's game 2 will be televised on My Utah TV on 2.2, 12 on satellite or 22 on cable.
