Grizzlies Take Stockton 3-2 In Shootout

West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies defeated the Stockton Thunder 3-2 in a shootout Friday night at the E-Center.

The Grizzlies got a goal from Scott Burt (10, 11) in each the first and second period to take a 2-0 lead into the third period. Burt now has four multiple-goal games at the E-Center in eight home games this season.

In the third period, Stockton tied the game with two goals. It marked the second-straight game that Utah was unable to hold a third period lead versus Stockton. The third period featured seven Utah Grizzlies penalties as the home team went 5-5 on the penalty-kill in the third period to force overtime.

The Grizzlies got goals from Trevor Smith and Tyler Haskins in the shootout. Mike Mole stopped Ryan O'Marra in round five to finish off the Utah win.

Utah and Stockton complete their three-game series Saturday at the E-Center. Face-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
