Grizzlies roll to fifth straight win

West Valley City, Utah- After 60 minutes of play and 106 minutes of penalties, the Utah Grizzlies defeated the Stockton Thunder 4-2, Wednesday night at the E-Center.

In the first period, with a two-man advantage, Ryan Kinasewich lit the lamp for his team-best 25th goal of the season at the 3:43 mark, with assists going to Trevor Baker and Matt Craig. Exactly three minutes later, Kinasewich and Garett Cameron hooked up with Treavor Peterson who found the back of the net for the first time this season, giving the Grizzlies a 2-0 lead.

Stockton cut the lead in half at the1:10 mark of the second period when Lance Monych put the puck past Grizzlies netminder, Alfie Michaud, for his first goal of the year. The Grizzlies extended the lead to 3-1 when newcomer, Scott Basiuk, blasted the puck past the pipes after taking feeds from Trevor Baker and Matt Craig. Utah took advantage of the power-play once again, as Colt King scored his 17th goal on the year to give the Grizzlies a 4-1 advantage. Ed Hill and Louis Dumont were credited with the assists.

The Grizzlies will look to extend their five-game winning streak on Friday, February 17th, when they take on the Thunder, once again at the E-Center. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m.
