Titans hold off Royals for 2-1 win

TRENTON, NJ (February 15, 2006) - Two first-period goals were all the Trenton Titans needed for a 2-1 win over the Reading Royals at the Sovereign Bank Arena on Wednesday night.

Mark Lee gave his team a 1-0 lead for the third consecutive game when he completed a two-on-one with Scott Bertoli at 8:53 of the first period.

The Titans extended their lead to two-goals as Mike Acosta found Jim Henkel with a cross-ice pass, which he tipped in for his tenth of the season with 5:47 left in the period.

After a scoreless second period, the Royals finally got on the board with a power play goal at with 5:47 remaining in regulation when TJ Kemp beat Scott Stirling with a slap shot and a power play goal.

Stirling would allow no more pucks into the net as he finished his night with 29 saves to raise his record to 5-3-1.
