Utah Grizzlies News Release

This Week:

Wednesday: Fresno at Utah, 7:05 p.m. Friday: Fresno at Utah, 7:05 p.m. Sunday: Fresno at Utah, 4:05 p.m.

News and Notes:

The Situation The Grizzlies completed their four-game road trip on Sunday with a record of 3-0-0-1. Utah is currently 30-22-0-6 and the fifth seed in the ECHL's National Conference. If the playoffs started today, Utah would open with fourth seeded Fresno in a best-of-seven series.

As Of Late The Grizzlies finished the month of February with a record of 9-3-0-1, their best month of the season. Utah has currently had four-straight winning months and hold a record of 11-3-0-3 in their last 17 games dating back to January 27.

Four-Straight With Fresno The Grizzlies are currently in the middle of four-straight games with the Fresno Falcons. After Sunday, they currently stand at 4-2-0-1 against Fresno this year.

Trade Deadline Wednesday The ECHL's trade deadline is Wednesday at 1 p.m. Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Jason Christie has not made a trade yet this year. In Christie's first two years at the helm of the Grizzlies, he has wheeled a deal on the final day of the deadline both years. Utah though, in the ECHL, has never gone this far into the season without making a trade.

Rollin' Rob Rob Sirianni currently has a Grizzlies season-high with four multiple-point games in a row. Overall, Sirianni has a five-game scoring streak (four goals, five assists) and eight goals and eleven assists in his last 12 games dating back to December 18. The rookie missed 22-straight games injured January 5-February 16.

Special Teams Utah has killed 18-straight situations shorthanded over their last four games and currently have tied a season-high with a power-play goal in four-straight games. They have gone six for 24 on the power-play and have outscored the opposition 7-0 (one penalty-shot goal) since the first period in Phoenix on February 21.

Defensive Scoring The Grizzlies have had four different defensemen involved in their last four goals. James Sanford, Ian Forbes, Jeff Dwyer and Andrew MacDonald are the d-men who have been involved in the scoring.
